Radiocarbon dating by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) system provides various information for geological events, environmental changes and material cycles. For rapid and simple method of radiocarbon dating, the elemental analyzer-cryogenic trap (EA-CT) system has been installed at JAEA-AMS-TONO. In this study, international standards (IAEA-C4, C5, C6, C7 and NIST-SRM-4990C) were treated using the EA-CT. After the combustion and isolation of carbon dioxide by the EA-CT, the purified carbon dioxide were reduced to graphite for AMS measurements. Radiocarbon concentrations of the graphite target were measured by the AMS system (15SDH-2, National Electron Corp.) at the JAEA-AMS-TONO. The radiocarbon concentrations of the standard materials in this study were good agreement with consensus values (Rozanski, et al., 1992). These results indicate the EA-CT at the JAEA-AMS-TONO is useful method for radiocarbon dating of organic materials in geological samples.
